1864 The Sea Captain's House, in Greek 'Kapetanospito', was built by the Sigouras Sarris family after the Greek War of Independence from the Turkish rule. This is one of only eight homes directly on the Oia caldera that are officially designated by the Greek Ministry of Culture as examples of traditional architecture and protected for conservation.

Overlooking the sea and Santorini's volcano caldera, the hotel is on the peak of the island's cliff 1,000 meters above the Aegean sea. This three suite hotel invites you to relax the moment you arrive in a peaceful setting surrounded by church chapels and private homes. Enjoy top-of-the-world views from the House's two terraces and courtyard. 1864 The Sea Captain's House opened in 2003 with all the personal comforts of a luxury home and unique architecture combining Santorini's simple style with Renaissance influences.
